Novena book.* The title reads: _Biblical Novena for the blessed souls; Novena for a Deceased; Seven Mondays to Crucified Jesus_. The book contains two different novenas and a seven-day prayer guide. The three devotions are meant to be said in behalf of the "blessed souls of the purgatory," but are generally practiced during the period of nine days after the death of a relative or a close person (in some regions, including Hermosillo, this is called sometimes "Novenario" instead of novena). --- (*) Novenas are a very popular devotion in Mexico and Latin America in general. They consist of prayers said nine successive days, reciting the rosary. People usually gather in a neighbour's house, and the host reads the prayers from a novena booklet, which works both as guide for the steps to follow and as a prayers book. There are several types of novenas and types of requests associated to a religious character or topic in each booklet.
